As if The Salvation Army doesn't have enough headaches from unscrupulous people sending out email solicitations purporting to be from The Salvation Army, now the legitimate site for the Hurricane Relief Response has accidentally been tagged by a major security firm as a phishing site. "OOPS!" somehow doesn't quite cover it.
The real site for donations to The Salvation Army is: http://www.salvationarmyusa.org. It's very slow due to high volume, but it is legitimate. You can also get there from a link on the main Salvation Army website in London, www.salvationarmy.org, if you doubt me.
You can also get directly to the credit card check out page located in Southern California's Salvation Army office in Los Angeles by clicking here (much faster for donors in the USA):https://secure.salvationarmy.org. You can check the Verisign Certificate for authenticity of that site.

The following link will take you to the best article I've ever read on the issue of Technology Security. A "MUST READ" for all IT Directors and CIOs.
