Steve glanced at his watch. Eight thirty. "Dang" he muttered. He checked for leaks one more time and then closed the water heater closet. "All done!" he announced to the homeowner across the room. The home owner smiled and reached for a check book.

"Let me send you a bill. I got to get to my girl's little league game." Steve collected his tools and hurried out the door.

Steve drove aggressivly across town. Almost everyone had left by the time he arrived. He hugged Rachel and asked her how the game went, then he saw her tear stained cheeks. “I didn’t get to play,” she sobbed, “because you didn’t come and run the snack bar.”

“What?!” He stood up and walked over to the coach. Jason and Steve went to the same church, they had met and been sociable, but they didn’t really know each other very well. “Why didn’t you let Rachel play?” he yelled at Jason.

“You didn’t do the snack bar when it was your assigned turn. That’s league rules – if the parents don’t take their turn with responsibilities then their kid doesn’t play. We tried to call you.”

Diana's TempleWritten to “Those who are saints and are faithful.” Early manuscripts do not contain the words “at Ephesus” – this was probably a letter intended to be passed around to churches in that area and the name “Ephesus” was just stuck in later.

Written by Paul, roughly 60 – 63 AD, (30 to 33 years past the crucifixion/resurrection/ascension of Christ) .

Lesson Plans

BoyThe time may come when you will suffer for the cross. The day may be far off, or it may be tomorrow or even today. The key, according to James, is to resolve to be resolute in what we believe. Often, we get tempted by the concept that living for Christ is something we can do in secret, that we don't have to let anyone know if we're saved, that they will "figure out" that we're saved because we go to church.

You need to establish in your heart where you stand on the issue of identity with Christ, and the love and obedience that he calls you to. It could lose you all your friends; it could make you a social outcast; it could get you hurt. Ready?
